UTC was one of the pioneers in biomechanics and biomedical engineering since its creation in 1972. About 250 researchers, clinicians and industrial partners were present. Following a review process involving at least two reviewers per article, the Scientific Committee of the congress has selected 123 abstracts for publication in the newly launched Multidisciplinary Biomechanics Journal (MBJ).
