About
The 49th annual congress of the Société de Biomécanique took place at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) from 29th to 31st October 2024. UTC was one of the pioneers in biomechanics and biomedical engineering since its creation in 1972. About 250 researchers, clinicians and industrial partners were present. Following a review process involving at least two reviewers per article, the Scientific Committee of the congress has selected 123 abstracts for publication in the newly launched Multidisciplinary Biomechanics Journal (MBJ). The 10 themes of the Société de Biomécanique were covered:Cellular and tissue biomechanics; Cardiovascular and respiratory biomechanics; Motion analysis andsimulation; Biomechanics of human-system interaction, ergonomics and robotics; Handicap and rehabilitation biomechanics; Sport biomechanics; Musculoskeletal biomechanics; Injury biomechanics and traumatology; Tissue engineering and material by design; Emerging issues in Biomechanics.
